About LocatePrime

Geography: CBSA (metropolitan statistical area), OMB Bulletin 23-01 (July 2023) — never city limits.
Who it is for
| Audience | How the data is used |
|---|---|
| Economic development organizations | Benchmark your region against the peer metros a prospect is also evaluating, with a citable source and vintage for every figure. |
| Site selection consultants | Screen a long list of metros on workforce, power, sites, governance, operating cost and logistics before site visits and utility load studies. |
| Corporate real estate teams | Compare metros on a consistent CBSA basis for expansion, consolidation and new-facility decisions. |
What it covers
24 US metropolitan statistical areas (CBSA, never city limits), with sourced indicators organized under six categories weighted from the Area Development 2026 corporate and consultant site selection survey: Workforce & Talent Pipeline, Power & Energy, Site Readiness & Land, Speed & Governance, Operating Cost Structure, and Logistics & Market Access. Every indicator carries its source organization, dataset and vintage.
Aggregate calculations are not published from incomplete inputs. Missing values remain marked as not available rather than estimated.
What it is not
A metro-level screening instrument. It is not a substitute for a site-specific feasibility study, a utility load study or an incentives negotiation, and it is not written for individual property investors.
Independence
LocatePrime does not sell property, represent communities or accept payment for placement. Weights, formulas and limitations are published in full on the methodology page.
